I sat down with Jenny Beck Photography back in January. She was kind enough to welcome me into her home. We drank coffee and talked about our businesses, dreams and goals. I personally worked with Jenny for my sister-in-law’s maternity shoot and she was amazing to work with. We then partnered together for a few more family sessions and I’m so thankful for the friendship that has grown. Jenny is kind, easy going, talented and organized. I love working with her for family sessions, maternity, newborn and more. I wanted our clients to know more about Jenny and her passion along with why Jenny believes hair and makeup is important for all photography session. One session we really want to highlight are newborn sessions! This is one of the most precious and memorable times. Capturing your love for your baby on camera is forever cherished.
Here is what Jenny had to say:
How do you view your family photographs? Do you think they are important? Do you feel they are worth investing in so you can have something your family can enjoy now and something to leave a tangible legacy to the next generations? If you said yes, then I’m so glad we agree! Family photography is art. Beautiful enough to enlarge on your walls! I mean your overflowing love for your new baby, captured in a moment to always look back on. A moment that will be cherished every time you look at it.
Families are art and you may not have thought of it this way, but these photographs are something that will be a treasured heirloom in an album or on your walls. Your baby will only be that tiny size for a short time and will grow each day. Within a month, they will look totally different and you’ll be searching your memory for those little baby details from when they first came home from the hospital. When they grow to be a toddler, they will love pointing to their picture on the wall or flip through that album with you. And when they’re an adult how neat will it be for them to show their own children? If I had something like that from my parents, that would be priceless to me.
Having makeup done for your newborn session is a great addition for your investment of photography! After your new baby arrives, it can be HARD to get yourself ready, as you will be sleep deprived and nursing often (say every two hours… often only leaving about 30-45 minutes in between). Having Hanna come to your house to do your hair & makeup is the perfect time to get a little pampered while you relax, nurse and cuddle your new baby. You want your final look to feel finished and not like you’re as sleep deprived…well as you actually are. Do I want you to look perfect? No, because I’m not looking for perfection, but I want you to be the best version of yourself and for your confidence to shine through! I know it can be a hard time during pregnancy and post delivery to feel like yourself so having Hanna do your makeup will help you feel as beautiful as you really are!
